Chun-Ju (Janey) Hsiao, Ph.D.

Chun-Ju (Janey) Hsiao is a Health Scientist Administrator in the Division of Health Information Technology (IT) in the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI) where she serves as a Program Official and project lead for several initiatives, including the Division’s work on patient-reported outcomes. Janey came to CEPI from another center at AHRQ where she worked on the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) program.

Prior to joining AHRQ, Janey led the National Electronic Health Record Survey at the National Center for Health Statistics where she was in charge of survey development, data collection, statistical analyses, and reporting on physicians’ electronic health record systems adoption. She has published and presented research on the topics of electronic health record systems, quality of care, quality of life, disability, health services utilization in office-based physician practices and by nursing home residents, and methodologies of establishment and provider surveys. Janey received a doctorate in health services research and a master of health science degree in health finance and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
