Bryan Kim, Ph.D.
Bryan Kim is a Health Scientist serving as a Program Official in the Division of Health Information Technology (IT) in the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI) at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Bryan is a health IT researcher and population health professional who comes to AHRQ from the health IT private sector, where he served as the Director of Solutions and Analytics at Healthcare Interactive Inc. His areas of focus include: health IT system design, clinical trials in underserved and minority populations, mHealth, population health, and clinical decision support (CDS).
Prior to his work in the health IT private sector, Bryan was an Assistant Professor of Oncology at Georgetown University leading cancer prevention and control clinical trials in minority populations. Bryan received his BS (Psychology) and MS (Applied Physiology and Kinesiology) from the University of Florida and his PhD in Kinesiology from Temple University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Health Behavior Research within the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his research background, Bryan was a former 3-time Olympic swimmer for South Korea (1996, 2000, 2004) with a best place finish of 20th in the 400-meter Individual Medley in 2004.
