  • Settings: patients seeking care at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, the main public sexual health centre in Victoria, Australia
  • Intervention: participants completed the computer-assisted self interviews (CASI) using a laptop computer in a private section of the waiting room and then were interviewed using the face-to-face interview (FTFI) (same questions). Controls were assessed using the face-to-face interview.
  • Evaluation Method: comparison of interview responses stored in ACCESS, clinic database, and data from written medical records
  • Description: CASI questionnaire written using Quask
  • Quality of Care and Patient Safety Outcome: Responses to questions using CASI andFTFI were similar except women reported higher numbers of male partners when using CASI and CASI participants also reported previous hepatitis B vaccination more often. Participants found the CASI easy or very easy to complete and most were comfortable using it.
