Jack Starmer, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University. An internist and former clinical fellow in Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt, Dr. Starmer brings considerable expertise in nursing and physician informatics for system design, computer-human interface, and integrating software tools into clinical workflow. He has served as a leader in the development of a clinical documentation and reimbursement coding system from an innovative medical software firm. Current research interests include clinical software adoption, and integrating evidence-based decision support at the point-of-care. Dr. Starmer is a member of the AHRQ National Resource Center for Health Information Technology project team.
