Overview
This teleconference will present the preliminary findings of AHRQ's contract with RTI International, entitled Privacy and Security Solutions for Interoperable Health Information Exchange. It will include a summary of 34 separate interim reports submitted by the 33 states and 1 territory that form the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC). The goals of the contract are to identify the sources of variation in business practices, policies and state laws related to privacy and security that affect the electronic exchange of health data. The speaker will provide an overview of the project's goals, methods, and preliminary findings from the interim assessment of variation and analysis of solutions reports. The presentation will also cover the current status of the remaining reports and the target dates for distribution of those reports.
