| Description: The research being conducted is relevant to public health in that it will provide, for the first time, prospective data on the quality of diagnosis in the outpatient setting. It will also provide previously unavailable data on the extent of problems with outpatient medication safety and quality. Finally, it will evaluate the impact on physicians and patients of a prospective system of active follow-up of patients treated in ambulatory clinic and emergency room settings. |
