December 03, 2009 Security Audits: Is Your Organization Prepared and In Compliance?
  In an October 2008 report, the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General issued a report that found CMS fell short of its enforcement of the HIPAA Security Rule. After years in existence and with relatively little enforcement and various criticisms, CMS is poised in 2009 to address the serious nature of HIPAA security complaints and evaluate the level of compliance within the industry.

March 10, 2010 2010 AMIA Summit on Translational Bioinformatics
  The summit is an indispensable gathering place for translational bioinformatics research and development worldwide. With the completion of human and model organism genomes, and the increasing utilization of biomedical computational methods, translational bioinformatics is evolving rapidly into a complex multidisciplinary field encompassing nearly all areas of biological, biomedical and clinical research. Indeed, biomolecular and clinical informatics, statistical genetics and genomic medicine, are poised to jointly play an increasing role in accelerating the translation of knowledge discovery from genome scale studies to effective treatment and tailored disease management and health care. The summit covers the specific and tractable needs of translational bioinformatics and more importantly, identifies challenges facing this emerging research field showcasing the synergy between the clinical informatics and bioinformatics communities.
March 15, 2010 HIMSS World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition
  The 4th edition of the World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition will provide unprecedented opportunities to both attendees and exhibitors, as it will be held in conjunction with the yearly eHealth High Level Conference - eHealth 2010 - which is co-organised by the European Commission, the Spanish presidency of the EU and the Catalonian regional government.
